Calcium Oxide CaO Quicklime Water Lime 25 KG BAG

It is a white crystalline solid, granular, or powdery substance with a melting point of 2572ºC, a boiling point of 2850ºC, and a density between 3.32 and 3.35 g/cm³. It is soluble in acids, glycerol, and sugar solutions, but slightly soluble in water and insoluble in ethanol. It readily absorbs carbon dioxide and moisture from the air. Upon contact with water, it forms calcium hydroxide and releases a large amount of heat.

It is used as a building material and a metallurgical flux, and is a major raw material for the production of calcium hydroxide and various calcium compounds. It is also an inexpensive alkali in the chemical industry. It is widely used in pesticides, papermaking, food processing, petrochemicals, leather tanning, and wastewater purification. It can also be used in laboratories fo dehydrating alcohols.
