Product Description

Dimethyldichlorosilane (also called dichlorodimethylsilane or DMDCS) is a reactive organosilicon compound used as a key intermediate in organosilicon chemistry. It is widely employed in the synthesis of silicone polymers, specialty silanes, and silicon‑based reagents, serving as a precursor to silicone oils and elastomers.

Storage and Handling

  • Store in a cool, dry, well‑ventilated area away from moisture and water, as it reacts vigorously with water to release corrosive gases.
  • Keep the container tightly closed and protected from moisture and steam.
  • Avoid sources of ignition (heat, sparks, open flames), and keep away from strong oxidizing agents, alcohols, ammonia, and caustic materials.

Safety Information
